Got it, thanks! @romns116
Also, I feel like this may have been mentioned before, but when and how would we hear about SCA merit scholarships?
Hi! I live in a three day zone and never got my acceptance package nor an email, yet my portal says I am accepted. Anyone else experience this issue?
@applicantXIX I live in a 3 day zone and got portal acceptance Saturday and package today, but I never got any email so I wouldn’t stress about that. I would assume the lack of package is just a USPS delay, so I’d just keep an eye out for a couple days before freaking out about it not having arrived yet.
My daughter is texting me every few minutes about financial aid and scholarships. She doesn’t want to get too excited, before she knows whether we can afford it. Chapman gave her merit aid and financial aid.
@applicantXIX My D supposed to receive package on Saturday. It did not arrive. Her portal showed she was accepted to IMGD. Later she checked the admission letter and found out USC sent the package to Connecticut instead of Ohio. They have corrected the address and resent the package. Last night she also received the presidential scholarship email.
@zzd857 Thanks! I received it today.
And congrats to your daughter!!
@WWWard Yesterday my D received an email from SCA IMGD program. In the letter it said “if you’re receiving this message, it means that you’re one of the 20 students that were selected from 100s to join the Interactive Media and Games Division (IMGD) of the School of Cinematic Arts”. In your old posts, you said the acceptance rate for IMGD was around 2%. Based on this letter, the rate for this year jumped to 20%. Is it possible? or just a typo (1000s)?
@zzd857 Well, 100s can mean anything from 200 up to any higher #. I had heard back in 2016 I believe that the admit rate then was like 2%. That email suggests anything from 10% downward (20 out of at least 200). It seems that they are trying to not be too specific. But with an overall USC admit rate of just 11%, and SCA traditionally being the hardest School to get into… with admit rates of 2-7%, I would still suspect that the real admit rate for IMGD falls within that 2-7% range.
@WWWard Thanks!
Hey guys I was admitted for screenwriting, and I just wanted to know when the scholarships for SCA come out??? I want to commit by Friday, but I have to know where the financial situation stands before I can do that.
^^^You don’t have to commit to sign up for housing so no reason to feel you have to commit by then. Get all your information first. You will lose the $55 housing app fee if you don’t commit but that’s it.
anyone get their financial aid yet?
@CADREAMIN I don’t know if you’re the person to ask about this, but you seem like a USC expert so I figured I’d ask if you don’t mind lol. Can we submit the housing app this week without requesting anyone specific for a roommate, and then come back and edit it later if we find one and want to say that on the application? I have disabilities so I want to make sure I get the housing app in as soon as possible to ensure I get what I need, but I also need to find a roommate who will be okay with all of my needs and my food allergies, so I don’t want to just allow them to randomly match me this week or something.
@drumminggeek87 You don’t have to pick a roommate on Friday. The signup really just gets your spot in line. You do make picks for housing but everything can change up until around May 1. It is useful to put the housing that you like when you first fill it out because it uses that and your survey to suggest possible roommates. When you do find a roommate, you have to have everything the same - the housing choices have to be exact. You can also go random.
@zzd857 you’re welcome
@drumminggeek87 Yes… exactly as @TreeAlum suggests.
Does anyone know about SCA scholarships? Anyone get one yet? Will we hear either way?
@Lakergirl6232
It doesn’t look like my daughter got any financial aid. Not even loans.
Same here
