You can include links in your portfolio, but you cannot attach more media than the single required submission
So so I should attach links in my portfolio? But what do I do if I have pictures of painting and poems and other stuff?
My DS used a format similar to;
Month Year, Title, Medium, Duration (if applicable)
2-3 short descriptive sentences to describe the work (message and motivation)
Link (if applicable)
Hello, I’m a student applying to the CSBA at USC
Okay thanks, but link to what? To like a seperate one drive page for example?
You can try storing your images in Coalition Locker and link from there (I haven’t tried this). Not sure if One Drive requires an account (like DropBox), if so avoid it. If no acct is required to view the link, then you should be fine.
Hey all, I’m also applying to SCA. I’m going for the animation and digital arts major.
My daughter applied to SCA for animation too
Applying to Production. Film won’t upload. Tried to use YouTube URL link but a window pops up asking about copywrited material? Any clue what this means? I hope it doesn’t refer to music on the film.
When DS submitted his short (youtube link), I remember seeing the copyright prompt, but it wasn’t a popup. It was a checkbox that affirmed the submission did not contain any copyright violations. Is that what you’re talking about?
I’m almost 100% certain the prompt said the submission couldn’t include any copyrighted material, this would include music in the film.
That is exactly what I’m talking about. According to SCA staff I just spoke to- YouTube can boot your video off if they think it has uncleared music, and then SCA would not have access to it if that happened . But why can’t we upload it the normal way; it’s only 3 min long.
You should have the option to upload the video file in Slideroom. The limitation isn’t duration, it’s the file size. I don’t remember the size limit, but I thought it was 300mb. One of the 4 upload options on the left side should say “from your computer.” Choose that option and select the video file that within the size limit.
@romns116
Changing music. Going with YouTube. Thx for your advice. I’m told the upload came out poor resolution.
Any other QB finalists rank USC for SCA?
DS applied to Production and CAMS. Match day is tomorrow. No expectations of a match, especially when the University picks only 5. Add the lottery chances for SCA, and the chances of a match are barely above zero. On a positive note, SCA Admissions did say they matched 1 person last year.
So he’ll keep his phone close and refresh email often.
I submitted my USC application at 10:30PM PST on December 1st through CommonApp, so does that mean I met the merit scholarship deadline? CommonApp stamps my app as December 2nd EST, so I’m getting a little anxious. Thanks in advance!
You should be good, since you clicked submit before 11:59p your time on the 1st.
The answer is on the USC website under FAQs. It says to meet the deadline, you must submit your Common App and writing supplement by 11:59 p.m. in YOUR local time zone.
Even though USC doesn’t have Early Decision or Early Action, I’ve heard that you might get notified early of some merit aid, which usually portends being accepted. Is that true?
I’ve heard have let applicants know about merit aid in early February in the past! Not sure if that also includes SCA scholarships.
@applicantxix While SCA applicants may be among those gaining admission while learning that they are moving forward in the merit scholarship process during January, I do not believe that the SCA specific scholarships are assigned that soon in the process.
