USC School of Cinematic Arts Dedicates New Center for Animation

<p>This week the USC School of Cinematic Arts celebrated the dedication of the Katzenberg Center for Animation. This four story Italianate building is a gift from Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of Dream Works Animation. He also helped equip the center which features the most advanced classrooms for learning visual effects, 2-D and 3-D animation and stop motion.</p>

<p>Present for the special occasion were cinema students, faculty and special guests George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Jack Black and Mr. and Mrs. Katzenberg. Dean Elizabeth Daley and USC President, Dr. C. L. Max Nikias spoke at the event.</p>

<p>USC offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in animation. The undergraduate degree is a B.A. in Animation and Digital Arts.</p>

<p>“Thank you so much,” Katzenberg said. “The students that are here, [the center] is yours and I hope you make the most of it. I hope to see you coming through the gates of Dreamworks Animation soon.”</p>
