USC Thorton Music Industry Major

I’m junior in high school and have a bit of a dilemma. My college goal is to study Music Industry at USC. I feel like I am qualified for that goal on all aspects except grades. Ive been producing, releasing and promoting music since freshman year of high school and have a deep understanding in the industry.I also know the roles of distributers, managers, tour managers, record labels, publicists and what not. I literally work on music when I’m not doing homework (1-3 hours a day). I’m not famous when it comes to my music but I get around 2-3 thousand plays on each of my soundcloud songs. I make, hip hop beats, and electronic music. So my dilemma is that I have mediocre grades due to a terrible freshman year, which is probably gonna put my average high school GPA at 3.4 to 3.5 (If i work very hard and get lucky, a 3.6). Im yet to take a SAT or ACT but on my PSAT I got a 1100 (new grade scale). I emailed the professor about any advice or if is possible for me to get in with those grades but I got no response. So thats why I’m here, if you have any advice or idea if I will get in or not please tell me. Also I’m going to try to start a small record label to hopefully impress them on the resume. Thanks for any help I get.

Do not email someone pointing out the one negative thing about your resume. Your talent and experience can overcome a lot at USC when getting into performance majors, but just don’t go promoting the other stuff. No more emails - a professor cannot tell you anything about getting in - that can only be determined once your entire package is in.
