Hello!
I'm currently filling out a common app for USC that is due on the 1st of February.
I know it is pretty late to apply but I had a lot of family situations I had to go through during winter break... which is the time when I FOR SURE decided to get the heck out of the university that I am currently attending.

Just a quick question, Does applying for financial aids come before or after getting admitted?

Thank you!

The deadline for transfer applications is February 1st, 2014 so you are well within that time frame - you are not late at all.

Financial aid application materials, including the CSS/Profile, FAFSA and tax return information, are submitted BEFORE you hear about admission. There is a new financial aid deadline for transfer applicants this year of March 3rd. (In the past transfers shared the same financial aid deadline as freshman applicants which this year is February 10th.)
It is best to complete the FAFSA and CSS/Profile well in advance of the deadlines as sometimes you find you need additional information - be sure to leave sufficient time so that you meet all deadlines. Both the CSS/Profile and FAFSA are available NOW so there is no reason to wait. For tips on filling out the applications, get the book Paying for College Without Going Broke by Kalman Chany - it is an excellent resource.

Good luck.

OMG thank you so much! you are great!! :)
