idioteque-yay! same place, same time we talked about?

The $150 will be charge to tuition account.

I think there are still many slots for Transfer students.
Also there is another one on July 15.

I got my orientation email in my private email account in about a week after I have setup my USC account and paid the enrollment.

International students must also go for the International Student Orientation held on 18 and 19 August, even if you attend the Transfer Student Orientation. Thats 2 days! I believe this is when we can get our visa paperwork handled.

I'm going for the July 1 orientation so I can get setup for school and start registering for classes. The last time I check, business english class are all full!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Math 218 only has one class left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check classes here.
Fall 2008 | Schedule of Classes

I was really hoping to clear these two classes first. Then work on my core classes. what a bummer................ :P

To simplycyn,

I order 4 orientation goodie bags!! Now everyone in my family will have a Trojan T-shirt!!
lol...

How many did you guys order?

Where can I get the Spirit box? :o

ksbr - yep same place and time!!!

To WOT,

You can order yours online when you sign up for orientation.

This is what it should look like.
https://sait.usc.edu/orientation/welcome_week/spirit_box.asp

gabong- haha! that's cool. I only ordered one.

but i really doubt my parents will fight for it lol. in all likelyhood they''ll probably end up taking a glance at it, maybe one of them keep the notebook and leave me the box.

USC Official Trojan Spirit Box Website

This year's spirit box, I'm so getting it! :)

LOL idioteque-NEXT TIME i will be on time. i hate faulty alarms. boooooo.

meanwhile. everyone in my family is getting a spirit box whether they want it or NOT. haha.

To ksbr27,

That's the spirit!

lol gabong-i asked my mom if she wanted one, and i told her what was in it, and she was like I WANT ONE !!!!! so that's one family member knowing they're getting a spirit box, haha.

seriously, i am going to be one of those USC alums who will live and DIE by trojan rules. i will be one of those crazies who dresses up their children from the second they are born in cardinal & gold/maroon & white (for university of oklahoma) and no matter where they go in life, as long as they do not stray to the rivals of USC and OU, i will be happy. haha.

ksbr27- I like your philosophy, lol.
I told my extended family (which is HUGE btw) that as a first generation student I declare the ____ family a USC family. They're all really into college football so it's rather cute that they're going out and buying keychains and shirts now that "one of us" goes there. :) Yay!

bumping since i know a lot of people will start getting access to the orientation server.

see you all july 1! :D i just made my reservation.

question-if we have transfer credit satisfied for math/foreign language, do we even NEED to take the placement tests?! ergh.

Alright, so I got my orientation email, but I still didn't make a reservation because I have to see the best time for my family, they are also traveling, not with me though. There is a lot of weird stuff that I dont understand.

For instance, the pre-orientation HW, us transfer student do NOT need to take the placement exams, correct?

Also, Fees. So there are two fees. A mandatory fee = $150, and a session fee = $100 student charge + $100 family guest charge (If we want to bring a family member)?

I already activated my e-mail account long ago, does that also constitute my other accounts, i.e. USC account (MyUSC)?

Thank you!!!

EDIT: Just got the email. Will sign up as soon as I get home. =-)

Yah... about these placement tests.... haven't done algebra or a language in almost 2 years....

After going through the orientation registration I only paid $120 ($100 + $20 for the 'spirit shirt')

Asked the orientation office they said transfers DO have to take placement tests and will be placed/allowed to take classes based off of those results.... Wonderful right?

are you serious solomon, That doesn't make any sense! What if our math and language courses transfer? Whats the point?

I kept on getting the same robotic response with every variation of the questions I asked

"Take the placement tests anyways, they are important and will aid in the transfer process and help academic advisors compose a schedule for you at your orientation"
