@Rosco458 Awesome!
@zettasyntax are you sticking with UCLA?
August 1st is coming, and I haven’t submitted my SC deposit. The spring semester and cost are really throwing me off. Is USC marshall worth 70K more debt than a UCLA sociology degree?
Ahhhh is anyone else still deciding?
@Ellie64 I’m still not 100% set myself!
My advisor at USC finally emailed me information about the new computational linguistics major (my field of interest) and I can’t decide if that would be better than UCLA’s linguistics and computer science major.
70K is quite a lot. I wouldn’t know what to do. I do hear so many good things about Marshall and how it makes getting a job easier, but with such a debt, I’d find it hard to decide.
At this point I may actually be leaning toward USC even with the semester off to just relax. Maybe I could hit the gym, get a part-time job, or teach myself some more coding while I wait.
How do you find out your USC advisor? Also, is anybody familiar with how difficult the Chem and Math placement exams are?
@Rosco458 Somebody at USC told me who the departmental advisor for the linguistics major was, so that’s how I got in contact with him. He’s so much nicer than the admissions counselor was with me, haha.
I imagine your advisor might be somewhere on this list. If not, I’d reckon they could direct you to the right person.
