Hey guys, I currently attend a private university in Los angeles and I want to transfer to USC for fall of 2015! My high school record is not impressive because I took very hard classes throughout but did somewhat poorly. Anyway, for my fall semester I am taking 13 units and for spring I'm taking 18 for a total of 31! I am a Global Studies major which is in Dornslife, do I have a chance of getting in? My gpa is a 3.8 and I'm not doing a competitive major like film or engineering. Is there a chance for me since my high school record is not very good at all?

My classes are as followed:
Fall:
Math
English
Western civilization
Political science
Intro to college ( have to take it at my school)
Spring:
Philosophy in culture
Sociology 1
World religions
English
Fundamentals in art
Psychology 1
Is this good enough?

I don’t think your HS record will matter much if you write convincing essays about how you turned your life around and became more dedicated, focused, etc.

This is literally me freaking out about the exact same thing right now!!
@usc4mepls really? What’s your major?
I applied to USC as undecided because I cannot decide between Price and Dornsife for political science. Basically I took like 10 APs in high school and got either Bs or Cs in them so my GPA at my school was very average, like 3.4 or so and my SAT was like 1770 I think. I’m at SBCC right now with a 3.8 and in the honors society and on the honor roll . I’m confident my grade in college should get me in, but like I’m freaking out about the High School grades since I only have COMPLETED 15 units right now, 15 coming up this next semester!
Same, very average in high school but i only have 13 completed from fall semester at 17 right now. But i also read some people who only completed like 12 units when they applied but had either a 3.8 or 4.0 got in @usc4mepls
yeah but then they look at their high school transcripts and maybe those were what was good
