USC,UCLA,BERKELEY,UCSD Undergraduate concentration: Biological Sciences/Biochemistry

I have a question regarding which school would give me the best experience. I know it's what I make of my experience, but I still would like opinions. I have made it to both USC and UCLA so far, and awaiting news of the other schools. I am from So. Cal and I would like to stay in California (although I applied outside of state). I have seen mixed feelings on these schools, and I was wondering if I wanted a school that was good socially and academically.....which one is best?
I know quite a few USC Alumni and they love it, and some UCLA Alumni too. Berkeley is a great school (a few friends attending) as well and I heard UCSD concentrates well on bio sciences. I want to head into medical school, and I want a balance of fun and studies.

Please help me out with your opinions, and the best choices, disregarding any money aspects. Just the experience, the people, the life.

Once again, I am going for Biochemistry, and maybe even go as far as double majoring in Poli Sci too. I heard USC has a great double majoring program.

I just don't know what to do, UCLA is a little to big for me...I like some consistency everyday, where you know people.

I have lived in So Cal all my life, and I am used to the busy atmostphere. I would just like good sized classes, although I know General Ed Classes tend to have a lot of people.

Also, about the campus, which one would u rank as most beautiful
Thanks.

I am quite outgoing, but I know my direction in life, and I am a balanced person. Party hard, study hard. I really want to go to med school.

Thanks!

dont go to ucsd, u will hate it cuz it sucks....go to usc, its good academically yet still fun, ucla too. it wont matter what school on there u go to but it does when it comes to fun. IMHO go to USC, the alumni connection there will help u into med school and like most ppl who change majors if not, u will be hooked up with a job

bo to UCB, they are renowned for that sort of stuff

USC stands for University of Second Choice

or

University of Spoiled Children
:)

Based on what you want, I would say USC is a good fit for you. UC's are strong in sciences and you can't go wrong with LA, Berkeley, or SD. SD is a bit too mellow and it's hard to really have "fun" down there; although it is a very nice area. Berkeley and LA are pretty fun and offer great science programs, but you can expect some intense competition there.

USC will offer you a very strong education and it is reputable enough to get you into med schools. It is the most social school of the 4 and has a very strong greek system (if you're into that). Also if you ever decide bio is not your thing, the school is well-rounded, has a strong alumni network, and has one of the nations best career planning & placement centers.

Personally I'd put myself in a position where the academics are challenging but not to the point where I have no life. College is as much about experiences and personal growth as it is a gateway to your career. Since you live in So Cal, you should at least visit LA and SC and sit in a few classes and decide from there.
