I was accepted for Poli Sci to both (honors at Umich). Umich I think is better for Poli sci. BUT i am also very interested in a career in theater and screen acting/cinematography despite my limited experience in this area. Thus, I feel like living in Los Angeles would provide more opportunities.

I am not sure which one to chose at all. I feel like I am trying to pick one of two very serious interests: intellectual or artistic. I would pursue artistic at USC or intellectual at Umich. I could probably dabble in both at either school, but I know what my main purpose in moving to LA would be, and I know if I went to Umich I would want to take advantage of their amazing poli sci programs.

I am trying to figure out if the strength of the Poli sci programs at Umich outweigh the LA location, or the other way around. I am also trying to figure out how accessible the theater programs would be for a poli sci major at either school. Does anyone have any input on this whatsoever???

Or any input on which school is better in general? (based on social life, academics, surrounding area, housing, food, etc...) I must admit, I think that Umich/Ann Arbor fits my personality a little bit better, and I am more of a natural at the academic stuff than I am at the artistic stuff, plus I have more experience in poli sci than acting. But I am still more interested in making a career out of the latter.

It has always been a dream of mine to go to LA after high school and spend a little time trying to learn about theater and see if I can get any roles after some serious time and effort. Yet my inner nerd is really struggling to give up the great educational/college experience I could get at Umich. How much would I really be giving up with each option? Are there other alternatives or factors I am not realizing?

If you made it through all of that, thank you!
