I want to know which college suits these criteria better:

I'm a fairly preppy guy, middle of the political spectrum.

I love school spirit and watching sports.

I'm not the best athlete, but I like going to the gym often and am kinda interested in playing club lacrosse.

I've been accepted to both as an undecided engineer but am mainly interested in chemical/material at the moment.

Post-graduation, part of me wants to work for a sporting goods company as a product engineer, but that's just one idea. I'd like to have a wide range of options in four years.

I hope to join a fraternity and be involved in a fun Greek scene.

Hopefully, the surrounding area has access to restaurants and shops. It would be easier for me to bring a car to Lehigh than to USC because of distance

I have a lot of smaller interests, too. I wouldn't mind seeing a jazz show every once in a while, for example. An active campus/area for that kind of stuff would be a plus.

Hopefully this isn't too much to wrap your head around! I'd appreciate any feedback!

Well, if weather is an issue USC wins. We have a friend who is a freshman at Lehigh and absolutely loves it. She is a biology major but also taking a lot of art classes and is really involved in campus life. She loves getting up to NYC and Boston but has found plenty to do in Bethlehem, too. She really couldn’t be happier with her choice.

You probably won’t like Lehigh’s weather. :(

Frats are big at Lehigh, and there is school spirit. You might be a little disappointed in the surrounding area. Although there are restaurants in town, a lot of kids end up traveling to Philadelphia on weekends. If you are accustomed to a lot of cultural offerings, you will probably do the same.

Lehigh is a great engineering school, and has many beautiful buildings on campus. All the students I know who attend are very happy.

What do you think about difference in AP credit? At Lehigh, I would never have to take English, I believe, while at USC I would. Just an example

At USC you’ll receive graduation credits for your AP scores of 4 or 5, but they won’t get you out of any required core classes. Would taking one class make the difference for you in these two very different environments? You really need to visit both schools.
