I live on the west coast, and my area is always pretty drab so I would like some good weather in college. However I'm planning to major in Communications or media studies (i may change my mind) and I've heard Annenberg at USC hooks up students with internships better. But everyone who knows about where I was accepted is saying Northwestern all the way! I know it's more prestigious but are there better reasons than superficial ones why I should attend?

I love art, dance (hip hop), not much into jock culture. would love to interact with internationals (pro usc). love learning and reading. vegetarian. aid is the same at both schools (close to nil D:) i'm pretty liberal, but ive heard usc students are a little more traditional.

I DONT KNOW HOW TO CHOOSE!! and i would like some flexibility as far as minors and majors go. does anyone have any input? thank you so much for any advice!!

NU is ranked number 1 in vegetarian and vegan friendly dining, to the point of annoying us meat eaters. Food for thought ;)

oooh i didnt know that! definitely adding to my list of nu's pros. thank you!

it sounds like you're set on USC, you're the one that's going to be attending the school, not your friends. USC seems to be a match for you more than Northwestern.

Were you admitted to the School of Communications at Northwestern University? Or to the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences?

i got accepted to the communications school.

I'm not familiar with USC, but to address some of the things you brought up:

1) There's no shortage of dance groups here (you could probably say the same for USC though). All the dance rehearsal rooms are pretty much booked all the time.
2) I haven't sensed a jock culture here. The athletes are certainly not very jock-like (in my opinion). They're not cocky, and social life doesn't revolve around them.
3) NU is on the quarter system, which makes it easier for you to ultimately take more classes and therefore fulfill double-major requirements.

USC seems like a very good fit for your interests.
