I got into USC as an economics major at dornsife. I wanted to get into Marshall however but I accidentally switched the Marshall and economics as my first and second choice majors. Assuming that I can transfer into Marshall either before orientation or durin fthe first year or two at USC, compare these three schools.

USC, uiuc or univ of Michigan. At uiuc I would be a James scholar and I'm instate at Illinois, at umich I would be in the college LAS and have to apply into Ross at the end of freshman year, and at USC I would presumably be in the Marshall school of business. I'd prefer working in California over he Midwest also. And as of right now I haven't heard of anything scholarship wise and I probably won't get significant need based aid.

Okay why michigan?

And thanks

Contrary to what you might read elsewhere, a degree from Michigan Ross is recognized all over the country which includes California. If costs are equal, I would definitely recommend you go to the school with the strongest reputation for business. Of the three, it is definitely Ross.

Thanks, it just complicates things that I didn’t get directly into ross. It’s 40 percent admit rate into ross after freshman year. At usc, depending on what I hear, I could be right in Marshall

Then ask USC if you can swtich into Marshall before you matriculate. If you cannot, there is no guarantee you will be able to do so once you get on campus. If you have to wait for Marshall, you might as well wait for Michigan. Either way, you must do very well in class if you are not a preadmit. Business is all about competition.
