<p>Hi, I qualified for federal work study at USC and I was wondering if there are any tips for good jobs. Or just any comments on work study in general, I would like to know more.</p>

<p>you can check out where I work at, galen art intermedia lab. pay is better than most other jobs although you are stuck with 4.5 hour shifts. All you have to really do is keep eye on people, ring up the register, etc… you can usually just do your homework.</p>
<p>Ask around your department. A lot of times you can use your work study in your department of study. Even if you can’t use your work study as a grader or in a research lab, getting to know the faculty, staff, and grad students outside of the classroom is invaluable.</p>
<p>Working in the computer labs such as SAL, WPH, and KOH are great. You get $9/hour.</p>
<p>There is a work study job fair early in the semester. Go there, and apply for everything that you are interested in.</p>
<p>Also, Campus Cruiser prefers work study students, and they pay well.</p>
<p>If you don’t qualify for work study, can you still apply to jobs at the job fair? Also, what are some of the higher paying jobs at USC? I was thinking about applying to some office jobs, does anyone know anything about them (how long shifts are, job duties, pay, etc.)?</p>
<p>Look early so you have options. I suggest an area of interest and one where you will learn something, not just one where you can get homework done. It’s an opportunity as well as a source of income, so take advantage of it. Good luck!</p>
