USC wrote me a letter asking for my transcripts as a transfer. Is this a sign?

On the website it said some students will be asked for their grades and others aren't but those who aren't are encouraged to send them anyway.

The letter asked for my grades naming my current college and signed it saying "we hope to be hearing from you soon"

Is this a sign? Because last year when I applied as a freshman I was rejected and they never formally asked me for my grades.

It’s pretty neutral! I’m actually surprised they’ve asked already because if the deadline is the same as before, it was only a week ago. Many people who get this letter end up getting in (especially if you have good grades), but a fair amount don’t. So I wouldn’t take it as a “sign,” but it’s definitely better than being flat out rejected lol. Good luck :)

thanks!

I know it was pretty quick, but idk this is my second time applying to usc i was rejected the first time and they didn’t ask for my transcripts. So now they are… i guess we just have to wait and see.

Wait, you’re a transfer?

Did you send in your transcripts originally?

If not, this isn’t a sign…they just want your transcripts lol

yes I already sent in my transcripts. I called them just after I got the letter and they said they had it. They sent the letter 5 days after the application was due…

All transfer applicants are required to submit transcripts with their applications (which is what sydney was pointing out). The request sclove09 is referring to is the SGR, or Spring Grade Request. The Spring Grade Request is not a request for a transcript, it is a request for the grades from your Spring 2011 courses. Those usually come out at the end of May and beginning of June.

The transcript request you received was a standard request to complete your transfer application and should not be viewed as a “sign.”

Good luck!
