USConnect question/speculation?

@rundancelove so weird that it gets to Chicago (where we live) in one day but it takes 2 days to get to Southern California. I am letting my son get out of school early tomorrow so he can check the mail as soon as it comes. I didn’t think I would need to do that today. stops self from peeking in the mailbox

@GamerGal27 It takes 2 days to get to Chicago. Here, this is the page with it all. The lighter blue means two days. One day is only a little bit of SoCal! (Including where I live, eeek)!
Type in 90033 as the zip code! (It is the zip code of origin they ask for).

@daniellehorowitz I just did it again and it showed me what you said, 2 days. My guess is I put in 60089… argh…

Does anyone else still have the letter about scholarships in current messages? I know some people said something about it moving to message history and their page saying the committee had acted on their application. Mine hasn’t yet, could that mean anything?

I would think that no matter what the outcome you would have your old message move down to history message and it be blank undercurrent message. But what else I would do is delete all of your history cookies and all that stuff and log off your computer reboot and try it again

Didn’t make a difference…

@Az6396 Mine was moved to Message History, but my page also still says “We have received your Common Application and USC Supplement blah blah blah.” Hasn’t changed to the “committee has acted” one yet.

My last name starts with a Z… Could be alphabetical

When did you open it for the first time? Maybe it’s set to move to “Message History” after a certain number of days after opening.

@Az6396 My last name starts with a R, and it changed from the we have received message to the we have acted message.

Can anyone confirm if that means anything or why certain people’s messages haven’t changed?

My sons has not changed yet. Last name starts with a W. He had Undergrad and Undecided in the FA glitch.

The “acted on” message means that a decision has been made and notification has been mailed. “Acted on” may mean either an acceptance or a rejection - it is not “good news” nor is it “bad news” as ALL applicants will receive notice of their decision. That the messages are changing in batches is not surprising - SC is likely being extra careful after their small error a few days ago (and, historically, the change to “acted on” has happened over a couple of days rather than all at once). In any case, letters will be received and/or notification online available within the next two days. Try not to stress.

Then maybe it was alphabetical. I had unknown/unknown just for clarity

this is reading way, way too much into uscconnect, just wait another couple days.

Edited

My portal was fouled up and kept giving me errors on explorer 11. When I pulled it up on Safari, it worked correctly. Try a different browser.

My last name begins with L
I applied to SDA and SCA as EA
I was unknown/unknown
Still no financial aid info…under review…

My message changed to “acted on” once they returned the capabilities of Admissions/Application Status Check.
I also encountered problems with the portal that apparently were due to browser issues on my dell laptop. Once I changed my browser, I could see everything just fine.

Here is what my Admissions/Application Status Check says about both “acted on” and browsers:

"If you are using the Safari browser on a Mac computer or iPhone and experiencing problems viewing a message, please try an alternate browser such as Chrome.

The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. You can check back here on March 29th beginning at noon PDT for an electronic copy of your decision notification."

My last name starts with a D and I had my class and major listed, so it looks like there isn’t much consistency with this new inconsistency (lol). I think I’m just going to put this to rest and enjoy the last few days of my spring break as I wait. Whether it says so or not, USC has said everything has been acted on and mailed. I can’t believe that after the recent mishap with the scholarship acceptances they would let that message be an early indication of acceptance again, so I’m just going to chalk it up to carefulness/protocol as @alamemom has suggested.

I think each regional counselor has to manually change the portal message and upload your decision letter.

Some counselor may leave the message as is.

Just curious, anyone has “acted on” and class/major on FA early?

Actually, the “acted on” status in January has been a reliable indicator over the last several years that a decision was on its way. Because in January ONLY acceptances are sent and no rejections, getting the "acted on’ status in January was uniformly good news. Now, however, please remember that ALL decisions have been sent, so the “acted on” status may mean an acceptance OR a rejection. (The error I was referring to in my post above was the display of class/major on the FA page at the end of last week.)

As always, BEST of luck to all.
