I think Class and Major correlated with your admission because the statuses are connected to USC database for current USC students checking out their FA. I also had Unknown and Unknown so I’ll wait for the worst. FA taking down the results kinda confirmed the results in my opinion.

Mine stated undergraduate and my first choice major before it was removed. I’m hoping for good news this week, but we will see.

@bounder, same with me… it being taken down is enough of confirmation I think…

We probably need an USC mourning page soon…

i’m already resigning myself to a rejection! waiting for that small envelope thursday or friday

Breathe in. Breathe out, Breathe in, Breathe out…

I got unknown/ unknown. I can’t help but think that it foreshadows a rejection.

OK, I, too, am believing that unknown/unknown foreshadows rejection. However, it IS possible that they simply had not gotten the info posted for ALL accepted students; it might actually have depended on some action by the FA office. So I am trying to hold out hope. But, admittedly, thinking more about the schools S has been accepted to. Unfortunately, none of them is all that great. Sigh.

I’m sorry this may be a dumb question, but where exactly is everyone seeing unknown/unknown or class/major?

@ScottCaulfield Unfortunately you got to the party a bit too late. It was on your USConnect portal/Financial Aid Status/In the Upper right hand corner under your name. USC took it down today. Now there is nothing there.

@GamerGal27 Well that’s a load-off!! I was like “Crap, I have nothing. I’m done for.” Commence freaking out for 4 more days…

I wish I had seen this thread earlier! I only checked today once it was gone. USC is my top choice… No speculation for me. Did anybody who already knows they are receiving a scholarship have unknown/unknown?

@cjcow58 i agree, it’d relieve my fears a little bit if there was someone who got in who had unknown/unknown, but there is probably a low chance of that happening.

This should add some fuel to the fire:

Seems like a strange response to me but what else are they going to say.

^ i am happy someone had the guts to do that, also I dont think that response is strange - unless they are willing to flat out lie to their applicants - what would be strange is if they did not respond at all, which is what I would have done if the change meant anything. I think they just had a software/whatever glitch that made someone sweat and a higher up yell at some CS techs

Hold tight guys, its not official and reading into this would be like reading into tera cards. this seems to be a glitch that was fixed upon notification, and I wouldn’t let it ruin you day (although, honestly who can just turn of anxiety). There have been many suggestions about “unknown, unknown” and remember that if you were truly denied then you would not have access to you financial aid file, or it would have said denied or something. More then likely it was an update error that pulled from some half complete file. Just meditate or something, we will know soon enough. I hope the best for all of you!

Personally, I am going to hang tightly onto the admissions tweet [-O<

One thing I picked up on is: they WILL send ON 3/26 (Wednesday) and will post on usconnect BY 3/29 (Saturday).
I bet they will load the info during the work week as a batch load, watch it to make sure it loads right and then take off for the weekend. In fact, I bet they do this on Thursday so they don’t work overtime in the unlikely event of some computer issues.

i didn’t apply for FA but i got unknown/unknown the other day and now i am sad :(

What actually does happen to an applicant’s portal if s/he is rejected? I assume there is a rejection message posted on “Admission Status Check” for some time, but are there any other changes? Does the portal access disappear at some point? Does the FA tab disappear right away? ???

@sweetbet They will send you a PDF of your admissions letter (accepted or rejected) under admission status check.

I imagine the FA tab will still say under review until such time they have composed the letter that says FA is n/a then that letter may be posted on the FA tab.

If it helps anyone, I didn’t apply for FA and used to see Class and my first choice major before it became blanks.
