USC's Average GPA?

dobrowski, I’m not sure I’ve seen an official version of how USC re-calculates HS GPAs (although I’d really like to see that if anyone here knows). I do know they state they use all grades from years 9-11, including all electives and even PE, and they use them unweighted. They do not use plusses or minuses either.

They have a separate system to account for academic rigor depending on a) the reputation of the sending school, b) the number of honors/AP/IB classes taken considering how many of those advanced courses may have been offered at a particular high school, and possibly c) the box checked off by your GC indicating how rigorous your course selection was when compared with others at your school.

sciences (at least all lower divs) actually curve to a C/C+ which would be a 2.0 to 2.3 GPA.

avg USC gpa at around 3.1 or so sounds about right though.
