@Herewego10 yes because it says congratulations on your acceptance to USD!
My son’s portal says the same thing. We just received the acceptance letter today via snail mail & we live in MD. Don’t worry…Your daughter has been accepted. Congrats!

Found it online. You must have to be invited to apply. I think if you are invited to ME@USD (under “merit overnight”) on the portal you are being considered. Not sure though as I was not invited.
@jf20201 did you call the school?
@jf20201 or anyone else who got accepted without any merit aid in their package, just curious to know if your portal includes the invitation for the merit overnight stay. As we’re anxiously awaiting my daughter’s 8.5x11 blue envelope from USD Admissions, I’m trying to do some sleuthing to see if she got any merit scholarships. LOL
(just something to do while waiting)
@8461student @raisinsmith I did call. Basically, I asked if I was awarded any merit scholarships and basically the acceptance letter should mention something regarding merit scholarships and if I didn’t receive anything, basically means I wasn’t eligible for any form of merit scholarship. In terms of financial aid, they told me to wait a week or two.
I hope this helps with anyone and good luck to anyone that hasn’t received a notification on their status yet!
And I wasn’t invited to the merit overnight stay. (forgot to mention that)
I didn’t receive any merit.
My application still says complete ready for review. Does admissions have a method to how they respond to applicants or is it random? Should I be worried as I haven’t heard back yet?
Totally random @cgro14 if you read earlier it was discussed. I called admissions. Decisions are released until April. Do not panic.
@cgro14 I’m in the exact same boat, but from what I’ve seen from past years there is no need to worry. It is still very early in their admissions process, and they are going to be releasing decisions for the next month. As of now, it seems like only the higher stat students have heard back, which is pretty much their model based off of last year. It appears as if the bulk of applicants have yet to receive a decision. No need to worry yet.
Does anyone know about appealing about merit scholarships?
What is the merit overnight?
@8461student what were your stats? And I believe that you can appeal merit scholarships but it is strongly discouraged by the University.
Has anyone else heard back recently?
No, my daughters friend heard yesterday, and another heard last Monday so I’m guessing every Monday? I hope I’m wrong! I don’t want to wait another week!
On your portal, under the “Admitted” tab, if you scroll all the way down below the Financial Aid stuff in the middle column, do you see something that says:
Torero Experience: Merit Overnight Program
March 16-17, 2020
It’s at the very end of the Admitted Student Events section. TIA!
Still hopeful…
Daughter was accepted on 2/24 w/ invitation to Honors and a $25k/yr scholarship.

Waiting impatiently! Can this please be a non-stats thread, I know it’s popular on this thread, but I find it off putting. Just please say if you are honors or not so we know when regular decisions come out. I think they have threads specifically for stats. I don’t mean this in any way to be aggressive. I’m sure I could be alone in this or maybe I’m not.
Are regular decisions coming out now, or are they just releasing honors?
