When do we know what books we need for the fall quarter? I want to order my books online so it's cheaper.
Are there any websites that are both reliable and cheap?
Thank you!

To add on to that, there is a store at UCR that does the textbook buy back thing right?

I don’t know how worth it the buyback is… Also, they don’t take some books back.

To answer your question… you’ll find out when your professor posts a syllabus. I think they usually post it either a week or a few days before school starts. Sometimes the professor tells you to buy the book, but you might not need it. Some reviews on www.ratemyprofessor.com might tell you if you need it. Like… for math 22, our professor told us to buy the book, but as long as you go to lecture and take good notes, you don’t really need the book at all.

I bought a few books that I’ve never really read (what a waste of money)… of course, you probably SHOULD read it, but I’m lazy… and sometimes, you can get through class without reading it. You can borrow some books from the Riverside public library… or your home library if you go home on the weekends! That saved me a lot of money… especially because… as I said, I don’t usually read.

Some people use www.chegg.com to just rent books instead of having to deal with buying/selling books… I use www.amazon.com a lot… just find your book and look at used… there’s a lot of books for cheap! ): never buy from the book store unless you have to.

It is also the cheapest and least wasteful. Try Chegg.com… I’ve used it every quarter since I first heard about it my sophomore year. Read my short review to see why I loved it… [Chegg.com Reviews by Consumers - SiteJabber](Chegg Reviews - 421 Reviews of Chegg.com | Sitejabber)

oh wow! Thank you so much. I think I’ll be renting textbooks… I didn’t even know that was possible…
