Used Wrong Calculator

My D took her 3rd ACT exam last weekend. When she took it in the Spring and Fall she used her older TI calculator. She got a new TI for her AP Calc class and brought that to her test...only to find out that it was not allowed!! After looking at the website, they do have a list of prohibited calculators including my daughter's. Anyway, she knows she bombed that whole exam because not only did she have to do the math section without a calculator, she was also running a slight fever. She came home crying because this was her last shot at bringing up her score :(

Does anyone know if we can request for ACT to cancel out these scores from her records?

Yes, you can. You can call them at the number listed on their website.

<a href="http://www.actstudent.org/faq/answers/delete.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.actstudent.org/faq/answers/delete.html</a></p>

you can cancel the scores, but since you can pick which scores the schools see you don't really have to.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!! My D will be relieved. Happy Holidays to all!!

Did her teachers not talk about prohibited calculators? When a national test date is coming up soon, my math teachers always mention to the class that you can't use a TI-89 and related calculators on the ACT. Either way, that sucks.

she is a retard, I did the whole test without calculator and finished it without any problem.

was that really called for? different people have their own strengths and weaknesses...

Are there no mods here to ban or suspend people like mattzheng?

mattzheng..truly uncalled for

did u get a perfect score on the math section mattzheng?

Thanks to all for your support. My D has moved on and has put that day behind her.

mattzheng: You have plenty of growing up to do. I wish you luck in college and in LIFE...you will need it!!!
