I checked my application status on OASIS and it said a decision has been rendered and I will receive it in the mail. I'm just wondering if that is good or bad. I would think that they would tell you on the OASIS account or do they just send it in the mail no matter what the decision is? Thank You!

They told me “Congratulations! You have been admitted to the University of South Florida! If your admissions was recently posted, you can expect to receive your acceptance packet in early January.” but maybe it’s just a random thing. What’re your stats and when did you apply?

My GPA is 3.1 and SAT is 1480 (They pretty much don’t meet the requirements). It seems weird to me that they would waste the money on postage to tell you that you got denied though. So hopefully I will get lucky they just posted it yesterday mid-day and I live about 45 minutes away, so I assume I will get it soon. No clue why they just didn’t tell me online

Applied in October too

That’s weird. I applied a week ago.

I don’t get USF. Why the fixation on requirements?

That means that you got rejected from the school. People who get admitted, they get a notification in the OASIS saying congrats. People that dont get in, it says “a decision has been rendered” i dont know why they would waste money on postage but thats what it means. All of my friends who have gotten accepted have gotten the admission notification on oasis account and all of the people i know that has been rejected have gotten their admission decision “rendered”. Sorry im guessing your gpa was a bit low… 3.1 is relatively low for them…since their average is at least a 3.5 or higher

Ya it took awhile, so i’m assuming that I was on the border and they were waiting for more people to apply. I guess they might send you rejection letters so they seem more personable and not as bad. Tried calling them and they won’t give me my decision on the phone. My fixation on the requirement is because every graph and average that I have seen said I pretty much won’t get in.

Well that sucks , thanks for your help

yeah it really does suck i applied as a transfer student and still awaiting their decision. I just applied though, like 2 weeks ago. But ive heard of people getting their admission 2 weeks and even a week after they send their application. Hopefully ill get a decision soon though But sucks to hear that…its getting really competitive to get into Universities now a days. Best of luck to you though!

Andreina, Did you apply as a lower or upper level transfer?

Thanks, probably just going to a community college and then transferring to some Florida school. FSU,UF or USF. Best of luck to you

I applied as an upper level transfer. Im not sure how long it will take for them to give me an admission decision. Because im currently taken 4 classes right now (12 credits) and i need to take 3 more classes during the summer. I applied for fall…i dont know if they would need newer transcripts to make a decision or if they could just make a decision with what they have right now…i really hope they can make a decision without needing my spring and summer semester grades because if so it would suck cuz i would have to wait like 2 more months which i really dont want to do lol. i have a 3.92 gpa

Wow, That’s an awesome gpa. Why don’t you just wait until you get your A.A and apply then? Because usually they want that first before they accept you

Well ive heard that if you apply early the better your chances are…and i wouldnt be getting my AA degree until July or first week of August and that would be really late because im planning on attending USF in Fall 2013. I will most likely call them the last weeks of february if i havent gotten an admission decision just to see if they would need my spring semester grades before making a decision…i also applied early and hopingggg to get a reply before march 1st because there are some transfer scholarships available that only students who have gotten admitted before that date will be eligible…so im hoping to get a reply by then…but then again…who knows…they can take foreverrrr to answer /:

EDIT: I submitted my application two weeks ago but didn’t pay the fee till the 29th because of problems with my USF ID and social security. I don’t know if that matters or not.

I have no idea how transfer admissions work but you guys seem to be given more time so maybe your chances are better? I hope you get in.

Did you get your letter?
