I have a choice between the two. My major is English with focus on Creative Writing.

I toured both schools (and I'm a Florida native from Tallahassee) walked around both campuses, etc.

Here is my concussions good and bad for both.

UNF:
Good- Nice campus, very on its own and away from the metro area, yet just a 10 min drive up the highway to downtown. HUGE shopping center with every store you can imagine not even a 5 min drive away.

All the staff I connected with while there wear very nice. The 2nd biggest student union in the state (UF is #1 only because they extended theirs by a foot) A very nice new (and to be the biggest in a FL university) gym being built currently and to be open in the fall. UNF has VERY BIG emphasis on smaller class sizes.

Bad- Some of the buildings reminded me of my community college, just a personal thing as I'm trying to get as far away as I can from that vibe/commuter school vibe.

Campus is a bit spread out. I felt like I would need a car in order to commute around the campus.

My visit was on a Friday and the campus seemed dead. From what I've gathered its one of those univisities that kind of shuts down on Fridays.

USF:

Good- Campus was large, but pretty much everywhere was within walking distance to each other, 15 min at the most. Allot of the buildings had a 'baby boomer' architecture feel to it. The newer atrium union center was impressive. Reminded me Universal studios theme park, lol.

Spirit was good, even students our tour crossed paths with (out and about) seemed full of "Go Bulls!" pride.

In general the Tampa area if great, love the people and events that happen there. The people of Tampa as a whole felt just more relaxed (must be the sea air), while Orlando (I grew up there basically) is more grunge feeling. Tampa was listed as one of the fastest rebounding cities last year.

Bad- Some of the buildings seemed older and not as nice in comparison to UNF, such as the fitness center. Some features felt more limited; like the on-campus dining. In comparison the cost of living on USF campus is more expensive then UNF.

What does anyone else think? anyone done time on either of these campuses?
