Im a senior in ohio and trying to decide between these two schools. I want to major in biology or chemistry with a focus on pre med. I know that usf has a med school so that's a plus but im still not sure which one would be better for me. I've visited both and they were both very nice campuses and I liked both of them. I also want to have a good fun social life when im there and couldn't get a feel for it when visiting. Also is one of the schools more out of state friendly I guess you could say? Thanks

Doesn’t UCF also have a med school? I thought it did.

UCF is only 5% OOS (many might be athletes)
It is more of a residential campus.

USF is only 7% OOS students (many might be athletes)
It is a commuter campus.

You’re OOS for the med schools, and Florida public med schools mostly only accept instate students, so going to an undergrad won’t be much of a help.

Why are those your two choices???

USF’s med school is really nice. My friend went to valencia community college (little sister to UCF) and will be doing graduate school at USF. The morsani center is great, take a tour of each and decide after that (of the med departments at least). USF has a lot of international students so I am confused as to why the person above is claiming its only athletes that are out of state not true, a lot of athletes are from the Tampa or Florida area mostly. There are a lot of great clubs to join for social life and downtown is 15 minutes from campus where there are nice clubs, bars, restaurants, music and art life. St. Pete is great for artsy things.
