Using Barrons with Psychology and Human Geo

I know most people here hate newbie questions but this is something I wanted to ask to since AP help from upperclassmen at my school really isn't that good and also the school doesn't offer these classes.

I've been reading past threads about self-studying these courses and almost everyone seems to agree that you can use Barron's for these exams and pass without taking the class. Have that many people actually had success doing it that way? I was talking to one of the teachers at my school and they said it would be very difficult but not impossible to self-study then take the exam and pass. Then again, not many people at my school seem to actually pass AP exams so my teacher's opinion could come from that. Advice please?

It doesn’t really matter which major review book you use. I used Princeton Review, I think, for Human Geo and it was super easy to self study (I did it in a day and got a 5.) Barron’s for Psychology, I also got a 5, and it was even easier, although I had more time on that one.

It is definitely doable - most of those people who take 20+ AP exams wouldn’t even have time for all of them. I would say, however, that if you’re self studying, you should get the review book that most people recommend. Princeton Review for AP Human Geography and Crash Course or Barron’s for AP Psychology.

Thanks guys. Also, would it matter which edition of the books I get? There seem to be various ones online.
