Has anybody here used Grammatix? If so, how effective was their essay writing strategy (what score did you end up getting?) ? And their Critical Reading strategy? Oh, also the Writing MC?

i have. I've tried all the CR strategies in grammatix... okay, so their SC strategies are awesome. They work very well. Their passage strategies in my case are very situational. I mean, they work once in a while but aren't something to rely on. Maybe they might work for you but not for me.

I thought some of the passage reading question strategies were good. At least, they work most of the time for me. The essay format is alright; the author claims it will get you a 12...

it tells you to read the italics, then go to the questions, do the line reference questions... and by the time you get to the main idea questions.. you would know it because of what you read in the line reference questions work. That works surely for long passages... but sometimes you miss something and it might cause you to get it wrong. And that strategy doesnt work at all for Double passages period. Cuz you have 2 diff tones going on at once..... and since there are 2 passages, and only so many questions.. there arent enough line reference questions for each passage to give you a good idea of the tone and the main idea.

I love the section on the hidden patterns of the CR questions. I've known about them but it was helpful to have it written out for me.

However, I believe there is no substitute for reading the passage

do you have to remember the patterns ?? I feel it's good too but it's hard to keep them in mind when taking the test.

that's what practice is for.

grammatix is too expensive for what it offers.

What are the hidden patterns?
