<p>Using the same topic for Common App essay and short answer - would you recommend against this?</p>
<p>I've heard CC'ers caution against using the same topic because it makes the applicant seem one-dimensional (only one interest.) What do you think? Yay/nay?</p>

<p>The adcoms read thousands of essays bored out of their mind; writing two equally unique and insightful essays on the same topic is a challenge to say the least. If you’re essays are to be your app hook, defiantly go for two stellar topics that are very revealing about yourself.</p>
