I dropped my study hall this year, to take precal (that is the reason it's regular and not honors, that was the only way I could drop my study hall)
GPA is descent, grades have been par, A's, B's and 4 unwanted C+'s
I have been accepted to attend the summer seminar this summer
I am involved in Stugo as a member of the community service committee (I have many volunteer hours)
I have played soccer for three years and participated as a player and manager this past year for the school (no varsity letter ) I have played competitive travel soccer for the past 8 years, starting since 4th grade. I am in Spanish National Honors Society and was apart of Spanish club for two years. I am apart of a new club (Timmy Global Health) and have been a PROUD member of the ping pong club for the pasts three years. I helped start a CYO basketball team and have been a member for the past three years. I participated in one year of organized volleyball my sophomore year. I tutor/student teach and fourth grade class every Monday after class. I am a member of the band, as a bassoonist, and have been 1st chair/section leader. I har played the bassoon for 6 years. Band is an official class, but has many after school rehearsals and is time consuming.
I am physically fit participating in local events (5ks, bike rides, ect)
Again though no varsity letters, I might get one for managing this fall, but it's not the same.

Thanks to all who have read this, I understand 'Chance Me' questions are difficult to respond to, especially service academies.
My desire is the Naval Academy, I don't know if I will pursue appointments to USAFA or USMA

You are not a “slam dunk” for the Naval Academy, but then again nobody is. Work on getting the best possible SAT and ACT scores. You should take both tests at least twice each. Your extracurricullars are very good. The lack of a Varsity letter is not a deal buster. The Navy wants to see that you are physically fit and active.

To heck with your chances… GO FOR IT! This is your dream. So, give it your best effort. You will be glad that you did.

As a good “Plan B” consider applying for a Naval ROTC scholarship. In Indiana you can go to Purdue. Otherwise it is out of state universities or private universities. You can also re-apply to the Naval Academy later, either as a civilian or through NROTC, if you do not get in the first time. Check out the following website for NROTC universities:

Also, you might consider the Merchant Marine Academy, because you can become a naval officer that way too. Don’t ignore the Coast Guard Academy either, because the CG is not hugely different than the Navy. Plus, the Coast Guard Academy is 100% competitive admissions, which means that you do not need to go through your Senator or congressman to get in. It is the most physically demanding academy, by the way.
