***USNCO 2017***

does anyone know what the bay area (northern california) cutoff generally is

Just totally wrecked that test to shreds. It was soooo easy!!!

@beast2718

I made a couple of mistakes …

yeah i think i def qual’d but im hoping to get the highest score in my chapter…

Around what scores did all of you get, and if you know, did you qualify?

@coolstuffffff
Scores out on Tuesday for me :open_mouth:

53/60 … qualified

Just wondering, how prestigious is qualifying for USNCO compared to AIME qualification?

Anyone know how many people can qualify per region?

@PTMtime every region sends at least 10 people

Mine sends 12.
I think qualification for USNCO is above AIME qualification, but well below USAMO qualification.

56/60 barely qualified.

@coolstuffffff

That’s a high score for a barely… What was the cutoff?

@PTMtime have you received your score yet?

How do u make camp? Like how do u study for the predicting reactions, orgo, and chemical explanations questions on part II if you know jack about orgo and I basically never predict the right stuff?

Also how do you prepare for labs if you can’t even do a titration right…

My AP Chem teacher can probably set up labs but I don’t know where to get practice labs with answers

Anybody from Maryland section received the result?

How did you guys find your results?

my son got 31. He is taking Chem honor and self-studying AP, but did not prepare USNCO before taking this exam. Based on your experience, do you know how many chances for him to score 5 in AP exam this year?

31 is pretty low. I got 55 without any prep.

@wzg69g 31 isnt good enough for nationals but really good for an honors student. He can probs pull off a 5 if he studies really hard. He should USNCO national exams to prep for AP exam multilpe choice and FRQs from college borad. This will be more than enough for him to score well in the AP exam
