I was accepted into UT-Austin School of business and the next day i got an email asking to set up an interview for that day (Friday) or the following monday. Is the quick turnaround a good/bad thing or just how busy the alum was? I have my interview for BHP, what kinds of questions will they ask? Is there any information I should have nearby me that they will want?
Yep, I’m fairly sure the quick turnaround is just dependent on the schedule of your alum. It could be that they were notified about interviewing you earlier, but just didn’t get around to contacting you until now.
You can look back on previous threads, but the interview questions are usually pretty basic - nothing meant to trip you up. Some of mine were: Tell me about yourself, why UT, why BHP, explain a moment of leadership/teamwork, and what’s your favorite extracurricular.
I’m assuming this is a phone interview, since they usually are? They should’ve asked you for a copy of your resume, but I’d keep one with you to reference in case they ask you to walk them through your resume. That didn’t happen to me, but I hear it does for some people.
Overall, it’s pretty chill; my interviewer even prefaced it by telling me it was intended to flow more like a conversation. Make sure to research some questions of your own to ask them at the end.
Have fun and good luck!
