UT Austin Class of 2021 Applicants "Non-Auto Admit"

On UT Austin’s twitter, they said that they will be out on break from December 24th-January 1st (I believe). We probably won’t hear back from them until mid-January.

I heard back on the 16th about LAH

Any non-autos get in this week? There might be a wave this week or next.

@austingal people are saying there might possible be another wave this Friday but probably not. The next for sure wave is end of February (21st ish). I’m dying waiting, so good luck to you

Upon cheking from austin site i found that international applicants ll get thr result in mid april… i think dinasours will be extinct by then ; :((

Flowerchild01- Good luck to you as well!

@USUG21 Dinosaurs are already extinct lol :'D

@Longhornalum2 My daughter also got an email rejection from BHP as well. My daughter has great stats, but I really think the BHP kids they pick have a lot of leadership and also business club activities. She also got a letter of rejection from A&M BHP as well. She did get into both McCombs & Mays. I hope your daughter got in McCombs.

@Longhornalum2 My daughter also got an email rejection from BHP . My daughter has very good stats, but I really think the BHP kids they pick have a lot of leadership skills and business club activities. She also got a letter of rejection from A&M BHP as well. She did get into both McCombs & Mays but not honors program. I do think they really want leadership skills and business related EC’s.

I hope your D got into McCombs.

@BigPapiofthree Did your S get in BHP? Mine did not. It’s sooo competitive! Mine didn’t even get an interview.

@SLparent, Yes my S did get into BHP. He heard in December. He had interview and id have outstanding leadership. Study body president, among quite a few. OOS also…We will visit in March.

@BigPapiofthree Congrats to you & S. Awesome :slight_smile:

Any non auto admits hear back from UT today?

I did! I got into physics, but that’s probably because everything aside from rank was pretty solid (and my rank was low because of my competitive school).

I have a question though. I applied to physics because I assumed that it would be better to apply to a normal CNS major and COLA instead of computer science (which has its own admission process or something like that which makes it really competitive and unlike other CNS majors) so that I could at the very least increase my chances of getting into the university itself. Now that I’m in, what would be the process of switching to CS? It’s in the same college so the internal transfer page isn’t really helpful. Can I just take CS classes right off the bat? Do I have to wait a year to be able to take them?

Congrats @deltawye From what I’ve read on different threads, its extremely competitive and difficult to transfer into CS

Does everyone who is not admitted yet have the Fall 2017 Housing Tab that says, “You are eligible to apply for on-campus housing”?

@Glee my son says it and he hasn’t been admitted yet, it just changed to that today.

@amottmers Thanks. So it doesn’t mean anything positive?

@Glee I was hoping it did but others have said the same thing showed up so I guess not.

The housing tab showed up today on my daughter’s portal too. It certainly sounds positive and implies admission… but her application says that it is still in review. Truly frustrating. There has to be a better methodology than this drip drip approach to releasing admissions in steps & in various waves over an extended period of time.

She has been pending & in review since Sept ( OOS / Moody RTF )
