This is not a problem. But niw when i go to pay my money the portal is not accepting. It says incomplete application.
@USUG21 however when I click pay now, mine on the second page says, “Your payment failed for the following reason: Could not complete the payment process. Please contact housing@austin.utexas.edu for more information.” Please let us know exactly what it says and where. We will be able to understand better about the situation.
@USUG21 have you been accepted yet?
No i hv nt been accepted yet. Mine also says same
All the applicants who are not yet accepted and see the extra Housing Tab (vertical tab in addition to the Horizontal Tab), what happens when you click on the “start” or “check the status” for the housing application? I see “Welcome Longhorns” and “Student Home”, my name and next to “Classification” it says “First Time Freshman” Do ya’ll see that too? #desperateforsigns #stayingpositive

any chemistry majors been accepted yet?
@glee We see the exact same thing. Can’t believe it means anything though. What school are you applying to?
@lavastorm CNS-CS and you?
Econ
Waiting on Admission.
Out-of-state resident applying to CNS…
Hiya, I’m also just found out I was admitted (engineering yay), but I wanted to ask you guys how you found out… I just got an email telling my to log onto mystatus and a list of enrollment tasks were on the dashboard.
@Meiying745 did you get the email today?
@amottmers ah no, it was sent two days ago; I just saw the message today.
Got into ChemE Friday! : )
Asian male, public highschool w/ a magnet of sorts hosted within it
SAT: 2180
ACT: 35
Rank: 72/502 (14.3%) lol
GPA (weighted, out of 6): 5.07 lol again
Took all AP classes, but got Bs (and even the occasional C oops).
ChemE internship @ local university over the summer, swam for 3 years @ the hs level (and more before that).
I feel as if my essays(imo these were decent. At the very least, I put a lot into editing and refining them as well as putting them through peer review)/letters of rec were well balanced - one essay about swimming, one essay that kinda explained my academic struggles (no real adversity here, I just slacked off but the essay was me talking about how I’m glad I challenged myself rather than take all regular level courses and cruise through highschool), one letter of rec from my calculus teacher (even though I got into engineering, my math grades have actually ranged from really low Bs for alg I and geometry and 78/79s for algII and precal - but I’m in Calc BC now and doing way better, mid b first semester and now an A), and one from the grad student at my internship.
Honestly thought I wouldn’t make it with my rank and grades (had a downward trend overall until senior year where I’m doing a lot better, but they don’t see that until after admission lol. the part I was worrying about the most were my math grades tbh). Goes to show that every part of your app is important.
So has any non-auto admit received admission to Liberal Arts outside of the small November wave?
Haven’t heard of any… Makes me hopeful for the wave in February
S is OOS and admitted to RTF major. 34 ACT, gpa 3.8/4.3 (UW/W).
@Meiying745 S learned of decision same as you. He just found out today as he had been sick the last couple of days and hadn’t checked his emails.
How many OOS (out of state) and International applicants in this thread have received their decisions so far?
I have realized something. The in states are given their decisions first, then OOS and lastly the internationals, however, according to their SAT SCORES. An International student with 2100 on the SAT will not receive his decision before an In state student with 1800, for instance. I think this is how the decisions are carried out, completely my opinion based on what I have seen so far.
I’m an international student with perfect grades (As and A stars) on my GCE O level and even on my AS level, great ecas, recommendation letters and superb essays, but a low SAT SCORE (OLD; taken once) of 1790. I’ve applied for petroleum engineering (to Cockrell) on the 17th of September (09/17) and have still not heard from them yet.
Guys, fathers, and mothers, tell me and tell us what you think. Every comment here makes the admissions process clearer.
