UT Austin Class of 2021 Applicants "Non-Auto Admit"

OOS and haven’t heard. I thought they don’t send many OOS until mid feb.

I’m OOS (Missouri) and heard back today. Accepted to Liberal Arts (government).

Got accepted into Petroleum at UT Austin and I’m an out of state student! I’m so excited because of the competitiveness for this major(800-1500 apply, 90 get admitted).

@lavastorm I found out today that I was accepted to the English program. I’m hella non-auto admit

@nosyllaste Are you OOS?

@lavastorm Nope, in-state all the way

If someone could please rate my chances, I would be so grateful! My nerves from waiting are killing me.

Essays: I felt like I was able to really get to the core of my ideas- very meaningful and personal, strong significance/connection with my major. I am a strong writer and I am happy with how my essays turned out
Recs (3 teacher one counselor): Very nice and accurate (perhaps a bit generic though??)
Thank you!

@lucy711, I believe you are well aware of the percentages of white and female students enrolled at UT
On top of which you have nice SAT and ACT scores. Not to mention an SAT SUBJECT TEST  the unweighted gpa’s decent though. Whom am I kidding? You’re a texas resident! You’re already accepted… Sit back and relax for now. UT’s my dream school too, but losing patience is not going to help, would it?

Does anyone know when the next wave of decisions come out?

@liwen6 if it is like last year and the year before it will be either the weekend of the 17th or the 24th of Feb.

Admitted into Electrical engineering
Top 10%, 3.85 GPA
1550 New SAT
Anyone else get their decisions? Congrats to those who got admitted!

My son got admitted to EE as well. CS was his first choice.

OOS, Homeschooled although transcript shows as private school, 3.91 GPA 1540 new SAT, 33 ACT, 800 SAT II Math II.

Very exciting but scared about the price tag…

Daughter admitted to Psychology yesterday! Top 23% (extremely competitive large HS), 32 ACT, 3.7 unweighted GPA, 4.2 weighted. Boatloads of leadership, 11 AP classes. Her best friend was admitted too! Super exciting

@ DS got admitted to CS. In-state, 32 ACT and top 8%

Congrats @ACT2017! Quite an accomplishment this year!!

@TexasMom2017 - thank you. It was a rough start and my DS didn’t get a decent test score until September!! He pulled it off and got into UT and UIUC, two good schools for CS.

Your DS has better stats than my son. UT holistic review is a mistery to me!! All the best to him. I am sure he will shine where ever he choose to go!

Thank you, @ACT2017 - much appreciated!

I got in! My stats were AWFUL I honestly didn’t think I had any chance even with my super comprehensive resume and recs and essays. I’m ranked 200/509 (39%) with a 2.8/4.0 GPA and my SAT score was 1980/2400 on the old one and 1330/1600 on the new one, with a 28 on the ACT

Asian (Indian subcontinent) female, Texas resident & my sister is a Texas Ex (though I don’t think that means anything to admissions)

@YESIGOTATX CONGRATS! What is your major?

number one did not expect to get in. very competitive high school. rank 82/632. new sat 1480. act 33, 5 ap’s tested at 5’s and 4’s. answered all three tx essays. lots of service, rugby etc. got accepted today and biomedical engineering. still waiting to hear about honors Plan II program. he’s also a national merit finalist. it’s nice news, but messes up a bunch of full ride offers elsewhere. yikes!!! what to do?
