Last year, Common App was still being new to UT, they seemed to process Apply Texas applications faster than Common App. However, this did not seem to impact admission decisions just the speed of processing.
As far as I know, there is no specific date. Usually, general acceptance email comes in 2 weeks-time after auto-admit applies. Then, there is a wait for the decision on major - this can come as early as Thanksgiving break or as late as January. Then, fin aid package will follow in January- March.
Has anyone been able to access the housing portal?
Yes, mine took about two days after I got my MyStatus login for me to access it.
Can you confirm the Housing Portal link you used for all to see?
THANK YOU 24hookem!
My son got an email tonight âsaying the hard part is overâ and detailing how longhorns explore Austin. Funny he hasnât actually been accepted yet. Weird timing there!
My daughter got auto admit acceptance couple of days back. MyStatus shows
Your freshman application completed on 08/20/2023.
Congratulations, Youâve been automatically admitted to the Class of 2028 at The University of Texas at Austin.
Your application is still being considered for admission to your requested major. Find out more about automatic admission.
We noticed today following 2 things under checklist:
Awaiting Accept or Decline Admission Offer
Awaiting Enrollment Deposit
My daughter only got auto admitted into the university but not for her major yet. Is it normal to see this on MyStatus?
Congratulations!
What majors did she select?

Hello - we just received the login information to MyStatus, where can we pay the deposit for Housing? Thank you
Does the portal link only work for already admitted? It goes to a IT service page.
Did you resolve this? I am also getting a redirect to Service desk.
No, I paid my deposit before getting my acceptance. I did get the redirect to the IT page the first two days after getting my UT EID, but on the third day it worked. I donât know if it was because I got my transcript submitted in that time frame or if the system just takes time to update.
The housing portal wonât open until UT receives an official transcript and so considers your application checklist complete. We learned this the hard way when dsâs official transcript was submitted under his UT on-ramps dual enrollment ID from high school instead of under his application ID. It took weeks to figure out why his transcript wasnât being acknowledged, and the whole time the housing portal directed him to IT services. Once admissions figured out the mistake and the transcript was considered received, the housing portal opened. Anyone who participated in on-ramps should be aware of this potential problem- might be best to apply using your on-ramps ID from the outset.
Thanks! The transcript shows received, but not reviewed. I will see if that changes soon or will try to contact and see what happens.
Our transcript was received on 9/19 and it still shows under review. Is this common? (2 weeks) What, if anything, did you have to do to make sure they acknowledge the transcript? Thanks!
