UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

^ I meant writing language subscore

Maybe things are different now. I’m just going by off his experience a few years ago.

@Mills6 neither of my kids were auto admits- both went to privates who say they don’t rank but really they do as far as state school. my youngest is a Current applicant is top 15 and has 30 ACT and a ton of service work and some solid leadership and a well rounded resume ( letterman in 3 things)- admitted on review to a and m( mays) (before they received the 30 act score making an academic admit) so I fell like the application is strong. My other child who got admitted for fall 16 at UT was actually not even top quarter but he had a good score and resume- only 19 kids total were accepted from his high school and only maybe 3 or 4 of them were not auto admit.

I am pretty sure that texas exes thing has been on my kid’s page for a while. did not apply forty acres but it also is not there now- i don’t honestly know if it ever was? kid did not apply I don’t think. applied freshman scholarship- not sure if that is the same thing? maybe the deadline for it has passed? no idea. If your child did not apply by Nov 1- he/she will not hear ( or may not) in the first round which is promised by end of January.- priority applicants this year were supposed to be reviewed and decided upon by end of January where as the people who do not get info in by nov 1 aren’t promised to hear until end of February.- which is why i asked when you applied.

@johncocktoasten let’s cross our fingers that means something good! My daughter interviewed early October too. Is yours an auto admit?

When was the priority deadline. Oct 1st or nov 1st?

It was nov. 1st

@Mills6 No, because we are out of state.

@tb2000 thanks. My daughter applied oct 1 and Texas Exes disappeared after she did it but that one didn’t appear until today. No idea, maybe it was a mistake and should have been there all along. Oh well, no way to know! Such a mystery with UT!

@johncocktoasten my daughter is at a non ranking school so not auto either.

Here’s what happened: everyone gets an update on their MyStatus for the Texas exes scholarship. The original deadline was Dec 1st and after that the notification went away for a few days, but NOW it is back because the deadline was extended!

@Xintus does it count as being part of the priority deadline if I submitted my honors app on nov 6 but regular app on oct 15?

does anyone know when the OOS undergraduate studies applicants will hear? every year it comes out the friday of presidents weekend (in feburary) but this year because of priority admissions it will be before

@sshiner Maybe December 8 or 15th

Does the priority deadline mean that most decisions will be out February 1 and not the mid Feb date that it used to be? My sophomore at UT found out mid Feb two years ago and I don’t remember UT offering a priority deadline back then. Not sure what definition of priority is this year. My youngest now applied 8/2 but is not an auto admit.

Is it true that In state applicants cannot be denied?

@Goo1230 They have changed it this year. If you applied by Nov. 1 then you will hear back on or before Feb. 1

@ChayDaw26 In state applicants that are out of the top 7% can be denied. If you are in the top 7% then you are an auto admit to UT but not necessarily to your major of choice. You can still get denied to your particular major but admitted to UT in a less competitive one.

so does that mean most people who would usually hear mid feb will now hear on feb 1?

@sshiner yes

@ChayDaw26 In state applicants must meet minimum college readiness guidelines (minimum ACT/SAT, certain diploma, etc.) If they have that and are not auto admit, then rather than deny them, UT will offer them PACE or CAP. CAP is not a denial but almost everyone considers it as one.
