I emailed my counselor and he/she said this “Students who have submitted their application by Nov. 1st will receive a decision no later than Feb. 1st and all applicants will receive a decision no later than March 1st.
Unfortunately, I don’t have specifics on exact dates of decision releases, or the number of decisions that go out. My advice would be to continue to monitor your MyStatus page, and email, for changes to your application status.”
It’s like they copy and paste their pre written response
Hey everyone, I applied from out of state in october for a neuroscience major in CNS… does anybody know when I am going to find out? sorry if this has already been asked i am new to this thread!
Question: I was thinking about CS at UT but also have a strong background and passion for Physics so I ended up applying CNS undeclared. As my school year has progressed I feel like CS is something I really want to and am capable of doing. Did I screw myself by applying undeclared? I’ve heard about how difficult transferring into CS is and emailed admissions about my dilemma, wondering if there was any way I could be considered for CS this late. It would really be disappointing to get into CNS and bust my ass for a semester to find out I got rejected from CS. Any advice helps, thanks!
when do u think we will find out if we are out of state? if I submitted the main application with Rec letters and scores in late October for priority & submitted honors in late November— the wait is driving me crazy
CNS undeclared would be considerably easier to get into than CS. If you are auto, I would consider changing your major to CS if you believe you are qualified. If you want to play it safe, CNS undeclared would be a good bet. That being said, UT is definitely not worth struggling through a semester of a major you don’t want to be in to possibly get rejected from CS internal transfer. I don’t know your stats or profile, but I suggest you weigh the pros and cons of UT Underclared vs CS somewhere else.
@nkasper I am white male applying OOS with 4.3 W GPA at a non ranking, very competitive public high school, my school doesn’t rank. 33 ACT and thought my essays were strong along with solid ECs. One of the things that kept me from applying direct to CS was lack of an extensive background outside of AP Comp Sci and teaching myself at home. I feel like people on here were discussing that they won’t find out their major until a few months after being admitted, even though the deadline has passed could you speculate in regards to if admissions would allow me to be considered for CS rather than just undeclared? Going into college with the very real possibility of being rejected from the major I intend to pursue is not my ideal situation.
Non auto applicant here. 7.7% at a very competitive high school, 1440 SAT, 99.9 GPA. I’ve been waiting so patiently. Applied for bio. Do you think I have a good chance to get an answer tomorrow?
GPA doesn’t really say anything but I’m sure you are pretty competitive. Your ACT puts you in a good spot, too. I hate ambiguous answers myself but it’s really down to if you want to take your chances. UT isn’t everything.

My school doesn’t rank, therefore I am not auto but I made the “priority deadline,” so doesn’t that mean I will find out before February? I applied in September and still have not heard anything. Because of the priority deadline I was expecting a decision fairly soon but some people are saying Feb 1 and March 1 for decisions?
people are saying out of states will find out tomorrow too but others are saying in February even if it was priority— does anyone know if oos have a chance of coming out tomorrow as well
