@Chipotlegurl28, have you submitted the housing application and paid the $50 housing application fee? That’s how you get in the queue for a housing contract. As long as you pay the admission enrollment deposit ($200) by March, you will get a contract.
I am not sure about how early you have to get your housing application in in order to get your housing preference, but the earlier the better!
@TexasExMom If i am waiting on other schools that notify in late March, will it be too late to make a decision about UT and still get a housing preference? UT is one of my top choices but I want to see what my options are before I decide! I also don’t want to not have anywhere to stay if I choose UT.
@TexasExMom yup ive just paid the amount! but theyre asking me to pay the enrollment fee by Jan 5th…
@gpop123 @Chipotlegurl28, My son is not decided yet either. I emailed the housing office earlier this week asking if we had to make the enrollment deposit in order to get a place in line for a housing contract. This was their reply:
“Since you have submitted the housing application, you have your place in line. We don’t begin offering contracts until March so you still have plenty of time to make up your mind.”
Even though he may still be undecided by March, we will likely pay the enrollment deposit at end of February in order to receive a contract. FYI, the $200 enrollment deposit will be refunded to you if you withdraw your acceptance by May 1. (The $50 housing app fee is not refundable though.)

When I applied to UT they only gave me a RD option if I wanted to apply to McCombs but I was reading this and saw that a few people got into McCombs already. Did you guys have an EA option? Also does anyone know how many spots are there for McCombs?
@njapplicant2022 There isn’t an EA option. Decisions just come out in random waves
Hi everyone, in-state non-auto admit here-
Applied late October. Haven’t heard back yet. Just spent about 1.5 hours reading through this thread instead of sleeping (this is how I cope with my unending “your application for admission is in review” message). Basically what I’ve gathered is that there will hopefully be a wave on 12/22 since that’s when they release for break? I’m hoping. It’s been driving me mad, the waiting (I’m sure we all know the feeling).
Applied to CNS Neuroscience. 31 ACT, 1350 SAT. Top 14%.
Will definitely be keeping up with this thread. Good luck everyone! (and goodnight, goodness)
I applied McCombs first part of Oct. and have not heard back. I am an in state, non-auto admit, 34 ACT, Leadership in a couple of business type clubs plus other EC’s, 4 years of a high school sport, strong rec letters. Since I am not ranked I am pretty sure I will get my decision closer to the final wave at or near Feb. 1. My older brother (who applied a couple of years ago) did not hear back until the final wave and he was top 5% of his class with a 36 ACT so there really is no rhyme or reason on when people hear. Just remember that only a very small fraction of those that applied will hear back in these little waves. Most will get their decision at or near Feb. 1. I think the one of the negatives about reading CC is that it can make you feel like you are the only one that hasn’t heard and that can make you feel a slight panic. Just remember MOST applicants have not heard!!!
UT Admissions tweeted that they close today and reopen the 2nd so I’m guessing that means no wave tomorrow!!
There could be a wave today (unlikely) but maybe also tomorrow. I’m guessing it can be sent out through the computer in where they set a timer? Either way it’s only been 10% of accepted students. Most come put until next January or February. For those who applied by the priority deadline know that you will get a decision by January. Happy Holidays and Happy Nee Year!
Does anybody know if I can still be accepted without filling out the scholarship app until after
