UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

there will be a wave tomorrow. I’ll bet you a million bucks

Has anyone gotten into AET yet?

What makes you say that there’s gonna be a wave tomorrow?

This is the first year UT has set a priority deadline so no one is truly sure of what they are going to do. Usually UT finishes posting all decisions the friday before the set deadline, so that would be the 26th of this month for priority applicants. Also, this year is the first year you can get deferred from UT. I am unsure of how this will play out. At some schools (like University of Michigan or University of Wisconsin) many students who are deferred get in the next round, I hope it is the same at UT. I am assuming they will start to release a few hundred decisions every friday because only 3,000 students have heard back and thousands apply. Good luck and everyone, Hook 'Em!

@18class how do you know UT is deferring this year?

The UT austin representative for my area (Veronica Pena) told me: “If you applied by our Nov. 1 deadline then you will receive a notification by Feb. 1. This notification can be your decision or that we are still reviewing your application. All final decisions will be released by March 1.” this is a direct quote

So, after being promised a decision by Feb 1st there could still be a deferral?!? Most who have an EA process with a November application deadline would at least advise way earlier than Feb. 1st of the potential for a deferral. If that ends up being true I’m not a fan of this new Priority process.

i know it is SO annoying

This is a dumb question, I’m sure… but is anyone considered priority if done before Nov. 1st deadline? It’s not like EA or ED right?

@18class - I sure hope you misheard that rep. DD’s application was submitted on August 1 and entirely complete recommendation letter, transcript, score and all by August 7. If it take upwards of 8 months to make a decision UT needs to get their act together.

I copied and pasted what she sent me in an email!

@18class, How do you know 3,000 students have heard from UT? Thank You.

So I was wondering, why did some people get interviews for McCombs and I did not? was I just a weaker applicant?

@spat31 the interviews are for students applying to Business Honors program. Only about 450 applicants get an interview.

I don’t know for sure, it is just what I have heard from my college counselor

Is it possible to get accepted into the theater program without a live audition. Digital only?

@WineDrinker sorry for the late reply! My major is Biology.

SAT: 1530 (760V, 770M)
ACT: 35
Rank: 2/624

I sent in my SAT subject scores but idk if they even looked at them.

So is there going to be a wave tomorrow???

Apparently or @coolguy985 is gonna give us a million bucks

Usually what time are the decisions released
