UT Austin Fall 2019 Transfer

Did anyone else apply for summer?

@HornHopeful19 not me but is it easier to transfer during the summer?

You will hear back sooner if applied for the summer

Thank you EVSLOVE. We should meet up when we both get in! :stuck_out_tongue: I am praying for you and everyone here that we get into UT.

Theonegoof, thank you!

@HornHopeful19 I applied for summer.

I’m sorry, I don’t know if it is or not. Personally, I think UT is hard to get into no matter when you apply. I chose summer, because I will have enough time to either A.) be acclimated to campus and complete pre-recs for courses offered in the fall or B.) if denied, figure out my living situation at where I’m at currently. I don’t want to resign my lease if I’ll be moving to Austin.

Also, depends if your major’s college accepts applicants outside of traditional fall admission. There are select colleges at UT that do not accept applicants in the spring…which I am assuming summer is in the same boat, however, I don’ know for sure. I know they accept applicants for summer into the college of education! Lol I applied to the college of education as a Athletic Training/Sports Medicine major on the pre-PT track.

If you get in, do yall know where the cheapest apartments are and if they fill up fast?

@nursingschool120_ I live in University Estates at Austin and really like it. Its $650/month for everything and they have a shuttle that takes you right to the center of campus. I’ll actually need someone to take my lease if i don’t get into UT so let me know if you get in and are interested. If you do want to take my lease you would be signing a complete lease yourself and i would no longer be responsible in any way.

@nursingschool120_ I have the same question. But $650 a month is crazy, for just one bedroom? I’m paying 300$ in Mcallen, Tx… each roommate pays a little for a $1200 rent-house.

i figured living in Austin was expensive, but dang that is way more than i thought.

@theonegoof That’s not bad at all actually. Where I live, it is $735.12 per month.I live on campus away from Texas now. I plan to live at home and commute though, so that will be the cheapest option.

And I share a dorm with someone. Room and board ain’t cheap. I would opt for an apt anyday if I were to live on campus.

@theonegoof Alright thank you for letting me know! So how many roomates would there be for the apartment you’re currently staying at?

@nursingschool120_ I have three roomates but we each have our own rooms and bathrooms, plus the living area is pretty big because there are more people.

Anything is austin is expensive, I was happy to get a place that is under $700/Month.

Wow, I live in south Florida, finding something less than $1400/ month is luck which is why I’m excited to move to Texas. fingers crossed

thats crazy guys, i had no idea. I guess ive been so wrapped up with the application process, I haven’t even stopped to think what would happen if i DID get in.

Does anyone kinda feel like that? The thought of getting in is way over my head.

yesss for sure! I am super anxious about this whole process!

How do you feel about your stats @nursingschool120_ ? What are you applying for?
