Also, in terms of credit hours, how likely are they to pass on you b/c of them? Like too few or too much?
@TexasRaph Did it show on your status for A&M that your spring grades were received? I just want to make sure they have them before that June 1st deadline.
What time do the alleged waves of decisions come out on Fridays?
@michaelaE Even if you send it to them electronically it usually takes them a few days to actually process it and say they received it. I’d start calling them and bugging them about it if its been 2 or more days.
@Pls2800 From what I’ve read the past few months, the closer you are to having over 60 hours is when there’s really a problem, especially if it looks like you might need an extra year to graduate. Not sure exactly why but I’ve heard that UT Austin is starting to really try and crack down on and improve their four year graduation rate.
And I don’t know a lot about Moody, but from my personal experience with all the people I know that got accepted into UT last year––especially for the more competitive majors––having a high GPA (and SAT/ACT scores since they were freshman) made them competitive applicants, but their extracurriculars and their essays to an extent are what really pushed them through to getting admitted. For transfers there’s a lot more focus on your essays and extracurriculars/resume compared to freshman admissions. But the downside about holistic reviews is that at the end there’s always gonna be variable of the actual admission officers who look at your application, and whether or not they may be more inclined to like your application better because of your GPA or essays or resume, etc. If you can manage it, pushing yourself to take a class to boost your GPA and taking an internship would be the safest option.
Has anyone heard back or was there a wave today?
@uthopefull2019 i heard nothing
UT is getting on my nerves omggggg
I did this last year. Expect june and if you have only like 24 hours expect june 14th. I had 24 last year and found out a day after the deadline
alright alright, I am done with UT and its irresponsibility about students who dream about UT everyday. Im going to accept A&M’s offer and even if I got accepted by UT I wouldn’t reject/accept my offer until very last day so they know how it feels.
@Reza_PGE ??? I feel you. I do not know what UT is waiting for to release decisions. Damm
It’s honestly quite ridiculous at this point. I imagined I’d have to wait until mid April or early May at the latest, but we are approaching June. It’s especially peculiar because it’s not as if they needed my spring grades to review my application, I was put into review a week after the application deadline of March 1st. I just wish there was more transparency from UT’s end, but I suppose transfer students aren’t prioritized.
A friend of mine at UT Austin applying as an internal transfer from mechanical engineering to computer science got word straight from UT that their internal decisions for CNS computer science come out on June 14th.
Internal transfers are basically competing against external transfers, so if that’s the case then we aren’t hearing until like June 14th. This really sucks :/
To everyone saying why haven’t decisions come out: on the website it says all decisions come out for domestic transfers June 15th. This happens because for people like me, they are waiting to see my final spring transcript for making decisions. (https://admissions.utexas.edu/apply/decisions) on the column to the right.
I have been in review since early November lol UT is a joke this is ridiculous. I already accepted another school at this point.
