@Ex85 Unless you have demonstrated financial need (my EFC was over $20k) or exceptional qualifications (I’m solid; probably in the mid-50% range of all incoming freshman) I wouldn’t count on any university scholarships. Best bet is to look at outside scholarships and supplement with any savings from part-time jobs.
@Ex85 , I assume you are referring to Texas Exes scholarships, not ones directly from the university, correct? I also am wondering when they will be awarded. Anyone heard anything from Texas Exes yet?
Yes, Texas Exes, not university ones. My son who is a Soph received a small one, and was just wondering if anyone had gotten one for the upcoming school year.
@Ex85 There are some merit-based Texas Exes scholarships. According to their website, “Most students selected to receive a Texas Exes scholarship will be notified throughout the months of April and May.” If you haven’t been notified by the end of this month, the awards were probably distributed to other students.
@Ex85 Would you mind sharing your soph’s stats and how much he received?
I just got a call from a representative of our local county chapter of Texas Exes that my son was chosen to receive their scholarship for his high school. Good news to hear this morning!
Great news…congrats!!!

If in-state applicants have $30k AGI or less, you get full tuition for 4 years.
Adding to this older thread in case anyone missed this, like I did.
Did anyone get a full ride to UT merit based?
