I plan to pursue a career in drug abuse/addiction research, advocacy, or counseling. I initially wanted to major in UT’s public health department but then heard that its department is not as developed in comparison to UT’s popular majors. Health and society has much more appealing classes, however, I am worried i won’t be employable with this degree. Is there anything special about UT’s health and society degree?
I’m very interested to hear from people who are (or have been) Health & Society majors. I want to know what classes they were able to take outside of COLA for the major (Moody College of Communications, LBJ School of Public Affairs, College of Natural Sciences, and the College of Education) and what professors they really enjoyed learning from.
