So I’ve made a post identical to this one before but regarding psych. I am now more interested in knowing more about the health and society major at the COLA at UT.
I applied to a B.S. in psychology, but now I am seriously considering health and society, and have been wanting to change my major before they review my app. I’ve been digging into their different programs and once I discovered this course of study I was hooked. I have taken AP classes in biology and chemistry as well as AP Statistics (and other core classes). In my essays I did talk a lot about wanting to be a surgeon when I grew up, and I mentioned some projects I have worked on (mostly in molecular biology) and how I interned for a year for a professor at CNS, and interned abroad. Since there isn’t a lot of information over this major, I’m not quite sure what the admissions counselors are looking for. Is this major competitive in the liberal arts program?
I should add that my unweighted GPA is a 3.37 and SAT score of 1480. My class rank is 44%. I am a female and hispanic, idk if that helps at all. I know that chances are limited here.
Thank you so much for the help!
