UT Austin Optional Essays?

I saw that there are a total of four essay topics in UT Austin’s application(option C which is required, choose one from A,B, and D) but I was confused when the website says that there is an option S, but it’s not in the application any where.

I was wondering which topics I should write. I guess I don’t really fit into topic S’ description(exceptional hardships) but it still states that I can write about how I can contribute to the university’s diverse environment. Should I respond to topic S? And does responding to more than the two required essays ever increase your chances?? Do admissions officers at UT Austin ever consider additional essays written?

Thank you!!!

I’m waitingggggg

You should probably ask this in the UT forum. There is a poster there (try doing a search) who says they do 't read more than 2. There is another poster who said that some reviewers read them all and score C and the best of the others.

I think S is for those who have had hardships that they wish write about which might explain bad grades etc.
