UT Austin VS. NYU VS.UCLA

Hey Everyone! So, unlike the rest of the world, I’m still trying to decide where I should attend college.
My three choices are: UT Austin, New York University, and the University of California at Los Angeles.

here are some facts about me/schools:
-I’m a Communications/PR Major. (UT and NYU rank in the top 10 for my major, but overall UCLA ranks the highest holistically.)
-I live in Texas right now (in-state tuition for UT Austin, approx 27K a year, NYU- 70K a year, UCLA 58K a year). My grandparents and family members have already told me they would help chip in wherever I go- my problem is more of finding the right college and atmosphere for me and my future.
-NYU’s location is drawing me to NYU- unbelievable internships and opportunities. but the question is- is it worth it? Communications majors don’t necessarily REQUIRE grad. school, so after NYU i’d most likely be done. (correct me if i’m wrong please).
-They say college should be an adventure, austin is great- but no so sure on the “adventure” part.

Thanks in advance.

I would not recommend paying 70K for NYU. Although you might think that you don’t want to do grad school right now, you never know if you will change your mind in the future. It is quite a hefty price tag + debt, which can get pretty messy down the road. I’m going to UT so of course I’m biased towards them, but UCLA is also an awesome school. Austin is definitely a diverse city and has so much to offer, and unique like no other. It is not as huge as New York City or LA, but it’s definitely growing each year. Don’t think too much about rankings. In the end it’s what you make of college and what efforts you put in.
