I applied as a freshman to the University of Texas for the 2017-2018 year thinking I was in the top 7%. Apparently, I was 2 slots away from being in the actual top 7%. I was CAPed to go to UTSA or UT Arlington. I have 60 college credits (earning my Associate’s Degree in General Studies of Art). My GPA is a 3.99, but my SAT scores are only 1140. I have a tremendous amount of extracurriculars (Member and President of Interact, starting in 9th grade; NHS, NTHS member starting 10th grade, Spanish HS starting 12th; Video Production Internship throughout senior year) . I’m so confused and lost and frustrated and I’m not sure what I can/should do…
Maybe you can appeal to be admitted as a transfer since you have so many hours already? Someone posted that they were successful at this and I believe it was in last years UT thread?
When did you apply. 60 completed hours make you a transfer student and your high school record means nothing. What is your college GPA but it is all that matters at this point. I hope you applied to more than just one college.
I am a high school senior at the moment. My college gpa is 3.1. Too low to apply as a transfer? Do you think I should try it? And yes, I applied to UH, Texas State, Stephen F Austin with auto-admission, however, definitely not primarily on the top of my list thinking I got auto-admit to UT Austin.
Do you think I should call them first or just go ahead with the appeal process?
What is your intended major. Do you have any idea how many of those 60 hours will transfer to UT. Can you jump those two spots to get into the top 7%. Have you considered A&M since you would be a auto admit. There is nothing wrong with filing a appeal but I personally would put alot faith into winning an appeal. I would suggest you have another a school lined up to attend in the fall.
Mine is radio, film, television so I don’t think A&M would be the best choice. Thanks so much for your help!
