I fear that attending the business school at UT Dallas will make me less valuable to the job market opposed to attending the McCombs business school at UT Austin. I have seen many undergraduate students get recruited by very good companies such as Goldman Sachs, right out of UT Austin. If I plan on gaining work experience prior to my MBA, I am worried that my work experience will not come from a recognized company in order to gain admission into the top MBA programs in the US.
While my son is CS not business he is faced with the same decision being accepted to both schools. I cannot answer your question but to me an employer (especially for business) would be wise to note the fact that the student made a wise financial choice in possibly saving $100k for their post education in choosing UTD vs. UT.
If you want to work for the companies you stated, McCombs is worth more than Dallas by a very long shot. There is no comparison between the two’s recruitment.
