UT Economics?

After browsing around, I noticed that the Department of Economics is in the liberal arts school. I applied to Mccombs and BHP, but after reading and research I feel I have more of an interest in Economics than pure business. Would it be fairly easy to switch to Economics and would a degree in Economics from the liberal arts school be of a significantly less value than a degree from Mccombs (and to a further extent BHP)?

It would be quite easy to switch from McCombs to the College. The value of the degree is what you make it: if you do well in the College as an Econ major, you'll be fine either way, but McCombs does hold a lot of prestige.

yeah so BHP is a pretty highly-touted degree. There's always the option of double-majoring, which wouldn't be too bad to do with a BBA and economics
