Was just deferred, OOS applicant.
Is there anything we can do to try to raise our chances for acceptance if we were deferred? Send them updates of what we’ve done throughout the year? Or send them a letter expressing how much we’d like to be part of the program? My parents aren’t very helpful for this, so I’m just trying to figure it out…

Also got deferred too. My second major is mechE and im thinkng of switching my first choice major to be considered for engineering honors. Does anyone know if this will withdraw my app to bhp?
@gettingschooled @BHPbound my friend, who just so happens to be the top ranked person in my school, got an interview but was denied today.
It seems like most OOS applicants were deferred. The only acceptances I know of are in state
@serafale Sorry for your friend. This really sucks. (Interview and then Denial) . Oh Well … Best of Luck. McCombs with or without BHP is still a great choice. I am sure your friend made it to regular McCombs.
If u didn’t get into bhp but have your mccombs decision pending is that a good sign?
@BHPbound He’s already been accepted into McCombs so he’ll always have that going for him! He’s keeping his hopes high.

In state student. Applied to BHP 10/15, interview 11/3, got deferred 11/25. Still haven’t heard back from regular McCombs. If I got deferred from BHP does that mean I have a pretty good chance of getting into just McCombs?
@matt26 That’s what I’ve wondered too… you’re story is basically the same as mine, and I haven’t gotten admitted to regular McCombs either… but I would think that would mean that we would have a pretty good chance, right?
I was wondering if anyone knew whether we can use the same letter of rec for BHP that we used for admission to McCombs or does it have to be specialized for BHP.

@matt26 Yeah, totally! Heard a rumor that the next wave of acceptances are coming after Thanksgiving break? Maybe we’ll know then…
@Stephiey @matt26 I would think if you good enough for a BHP interview (& non denial aka differed) - you would definitely be good enough for McCombs. But it’s sad they have no admitted you yet - best of luck. May not be a bad idea to contact them - may just be a case of web site not being updated.
so if I put submitted my bhp application today and applied for regular admission a week ago, what should I be expecting in the next few weeks? do we hear back early for acceptances into bhp or just in general to the school? i’m not very sure on how the acceptances get send and such? also im out of state
