Should I start my college curriculum sooner than planned at UT Austin Liberal ARts this June 12 taking on less loans than NYU, or should I take on who knows how much $ of loans to go to NYU GSP (CAS)? I'm from Texas, but I would love to go afar especially to invest in my education. I don't know if I'd be stupid to reject NYU or smart to attend UT Summer instead. Any thoughts?

GSP is a joke, IMO - UT Summer is actually an advantage. You get to get a couple of the massive lectures out of the way, become acquainted with Austin before the other freshmen, and have an awesome summer (hopefully lightening the load later on as well).

I agree w/ kcirsch...I kinda wish I had done UT summer instead of the regular term. Also, from what I hear about NYU, I would never go there. My friend is there right now and says there are a lot of problems with the kids (stuck up, etc).

Both schools will give you what you create, just like anything else in life.

Thank you! I think in the end I'm going to have to go to UT Austin, but I just felt like it was a dream to go to NYU. Why do you think gsp is a joke?

Is anyone for sure going to UT Summer Freshmen Class of 2006? If so, why?

The only things worth doing at UT are business, engineering, and communications. If you want liberal atrs, go to NYU - it's a much more prestigious university.
